Alpine Rock Climbing

Climbing in the Alps is not all about cramponning up big snowy mountains. Rock climbing in a mountainous setting is one of the most enjoyable and rewarding aspects of alpine adventuring. Often good mountaineering skills on snow and ice, or broken rocky ground,are needed just to reach the base of the climbs, and get down from the finish, making the experience complete and varied.
Chamonix is a fantastic place to climb these types of routes as there are thousands of great climbs and the rock is often of very good quality. This aspect of alpine climbing is suitable for anyone with multi pitch rock climbing experience, and able to second at about HS/VS level on UK rock. (US 5.6/5.7, Euro 5/5+)
