6 May 08. The snow is stil good, the Grands Montets is staying open till 11 May, and Aiguille du Midi is not closing, so check in if you fancy what could be some great late-season ski-touring or early mountaineering, without the crowds.

May is also the month for climbing high mountains on skis - Gran Paradiso or Mont Blanc for example.
